Looking to download Riot Games’ popular tactical shooter Valorant in 2023? Fortunately, the game has been well-optimized and takes up little disk space when compared to other recent shooter games. It does, however, have a large download/install size that you should be aware of if your internet access is limited.

The fast-paced first-person shooter was released in June 2020 after a successful beta phase. Because of its addicting competitive dynamics and hero-based experiences, the title has increased in popularity since then.

Despite having 21 Agents with unique skills, Valorant isn’t just a hero shooter. Players must also cope with intricate strategy and weaponry that require trigger discipline and excellent precision, both of which are common in competitive FPS games. As a result, the genre of the title is more of a hybrid.

Valorant is a free-to-play game, but it contains a plethora of material for players to enjoy, including weapons, agents, cosmetics, game modes, and more. The download size would undoubtedly reflect such variety.

Download and Installation Size

The game’s file download size is presently 28.4GB, according to Riot Client, which aids in Valorant installation. Riot Vanguard, the required anti-cheat solution that underpins the game’s security structure, is included.

The size of the title at the time of its release was probably smaller than it is now. Riot Games constantly deploys material and feature upgrades to the game, therefore a size increase is unavoidable.

Run Valorant in 2023

In 2022, the game received four new Agents, a new map, and various content and QoL enhancements. As a result, its file size should have increased slightly compared to the previous year.

To begin, players must download an installer executable from the official Valorant website. The file is short (66.1MB) and should take a little time to download, depending on your internet speed.

After downloading the.exe file, double-click it to begin the installation. The download/install client will then display the game’s precise size (around 30GB, as of writing). You can either continue with the installation or cancel it.

System Requirements

As previously stated, Valorant is well-optimized and is not a demanding game for your system. For example, the following are the system requirements to run the game at 60 frames per second:

  • CPU: Intel i3-4150 / AMD Ryzen 3 1200
  • GPU: GeForce GT 730 / Radeon R7240
  • OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)
  • RAM: 4 GB
  • VRAM: 1 GB

For 144+ FPS or a true esports experience, you will need slightly higher specs:

  • CPU: Intel i5 9400F (2.9 GHz) / AMD Ryzen 5 2600x
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 1050 Ti / AMD Radeon R7370
  • OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)
  • RAM: 4 GB
  • VRAM: 1 GB

The greater the specifications, the more stable the FPS.

The minimum system requirements are also quite generous, so even the most “potato” machine in 2023 will be able to run the game. The minimum spec requirements are as follows:

  • CPU: AMD Athlon 200 GE / Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
  • GPU: Intel HD 4000 / Radeon R5200
  • OS: Windows 7 (64-bit)
  • RAM: 4 GB
  • VRAM: 1 GB

Aside from the system requirements listed above, have at least 30GB of free disk space available to download Valorant in 2023.
