T1 Zeus: from shadows to Worlds Finals MVP

Valorant has a lot to look forward to in the future. The Valorant team is working on more than just Team Deathmatch and the Premier tournament mode, as revealed in a recent Dev Diaries update.

According to Executive Producer Anna Donlon, one of the most desired features by esports professionals is a Valorant replay option.

Instead of relying on third-party software like NVIDIA GeForce Experience or AMD Radeon Software, a replay function would allow users to download footage of recent battles, making it easier to examine strategies and mistakes.

Donlon verified the Valorant replay feature capability in a Twitter update, despite the fact that it was not mentioned in the Dev Diaries video.

“We typically don’t talk about those things until we can make firmer commitments around dates or share actual details,” she explained. “Mainly out of concern, we might hype things up sooner than we should or over-promise.”

This means that the feature will not be available in 2023. To put things in context, Riot just added replays to League of Legends in 2016, seven years after the game’s release. With the built-in recording functionality, players can also take recordings of in-game highlights.

Replays are an essential part of every esport. Players in CS:GO can also simply download recordings of recent matches from the endgame screen.

Donlon also hinted at additional exciting game updates, such as new server locations to ensure reduced latency for more players. The crew is constantly listening to player feedback, and various features are in the works.

Donlon emphasized a want to “speak more” with players about what they have in development, beginning with a Lotus AMA and a meeting with the Agents team in February.
