On August 9, Valorant patch 5.03 was released with agents and balance adjustments. This includes significant Chamber nerfs, Neon, modifications to Jett’s ultimate, and more. All of these changes have been put to the test by Riot in the PBE (Public Beta Environment).
Additionally, the developers recently updated the Unreal Engine to version 4.26, which resulted in some UI misbehaviour. Riot is working diligently to address these issues.

HERO CHANGES Patch 5.03

Chamber

Chamber’s strengths have begun to outweigh his shortcomings as players in both ranked and professional play have mastered him, making the counterplay to Rendezvous and his arsenal less successful than Riot intended. Riot thinks they can lessen the whole power of Chamber’s kit while still keeping him competitive with the rest of the roster because his overall strength has also felt excessive.

Rendezvous (E)

  • Base Cooldown lengthened by 20s to 30s.
  • Increased Recall Cooldown: 20s to 30s
  • When a Rendezvous anchor is destroyed, the cooldown is increased to 45 seconds.
  • The “ring” Chamber can stand in to activate Rendezvous shrank from 21 to 15 meters in diameter.

Despite the fact that Chamber’s Rendezvous is designed to be effective at holding territory, the wide radius gave him room to pounce on it aggressively. Chamber should have to work harder now to reach off-angles as a result of this adjustment. Riot anticipates that the increased penalty for destroyed Rendezvous anchors and the smaller radius will make Chamber mains more cautious in their use. Additionally, this modification more closely aligns the counterplay of Chamber’s destructible items with that of other in-game destructible items.

Trademark (C)

  • Slow Duration dropped from 9.5 to 6s.

Tour De Force (X)

  • Increased Ultimate Points Required: 7 >>> 8
  • Slow Duration dropped from 9.5 to 6s.

Headhunter (Q)

  • Increase in Bullet Cost: 100 >>> 150

Although Headhunter is an effective sidearm for Chamber, at its current pricing, Chamber is not forced to make as many difficult financial decisions as other Agents. This should have the biggest impact on how Chamber decides whether to fire pistol shots or save bullets. This objective is also being pursued by the final point adjustment to Tour de Force.

DAMAGE ABILITY REGIONAL BREAKUP

Riot is also modifying the next Agent’s ultimates so that they adhere to the same regional damage regulations as our weapons, wherein striking an enemy’s head or legs results in a different damage multiplier. The goal is to encourage accuracy and provide intuitive uniformity throughout damage in VALORANT.

It also provides us with extra tuning options for balancing Neon across various skill levels. This modification ought to deepen the mastery of tracking while running that her ultimate demands.

  • Reyna/Killjoy HUD parts that were still visible after turning on Hide User Interface were fixed.
  • Fixed a bug where the defuse animation wouldn’t always play if the orb is quickly tapped.
