A new email is included in the Valorant patch 5.04, which once more revolves around the mysterious Varun Batra.

Captain Greaves, who appears to be one of Fade’s former colleagues, updates her on Varun Batra in the email.

He declared, “Operative Batra is no longer employed with REALM.” He is wanted on suspicion of stealing a priceless treasure and is a wanted fugitive.

Varun Batra and Valorant Agent 21 are the same people, but Riot Games hasn’t made that public announcement yet. Varun Batra may be the next selectable character, given he was the subject of the previous two emails.

Before her release, Fade received similar communications that mocked her as the Valorant Protocol set out to find her.

The Battle Pass for Episode 5 Act 2 contains another hint. In keeping with Riot’s custom of teasing future agents in Battle Pass player cards, the Rising Tide player card suggests that the new agent will have water-type skills.

A sphere-shaped item covered in water is shown on the player card, and this image matches the hazy object on the practice range bulletin board. This might be the relic that Batra took, as Twitter user Disturbo pointed out.

Fans are also drawn to the symbol close to the blurred-out object. Agent 21’s water-based skills and abilities are further suggested by the image’s resemblance to the Hamsa hand. This is probably the Hamsa hand, with each finger denoting a different element and the five chakras symbolized by the hand’s five fingers, according to the YouTube channel Valorant Update.

Since water is the only component Valorant is missing, many people think the next agent will probably complete the gap in the Hamsa hand.

Valorant Agent 21 “Mage” Abilities

The abilities of a probable new VALORANT agent going by the name of “Mage” has been revealed for the first time. Early on August 25, a picture of a test version of VALORANT with the agent’s complete set of skills became online and circulated on social media and other websites.

The agent’s icon has been obscured in the image, but it is still possible to read the skills, icons, and costs.

Here is the whole list of the supposed abilities for the possible new agent, who would probably assume the post of controller depending on their skills:

  • Bubble (E): EQUIP bubble and enter into a phased state to place down a bubble by pressing the ability key. Activate to create an impenetrable bubble. Bullets cannot pass through.
  • Tartarus Pit (Q): EQUIP a Tartarus charger. FIRE to launch a shot that deals some damage and slows players within its zone.
  • Vision Taker (C): EQUIP a distortion wall launcher. FIRE to create a small line of distortion. Enemies will get briefly blinded if they walk through.
  • Golem (X): EQUIP the Golem doll. Fire to throw down. All teammates will get a regeneration buff, and enemies will get decay debuff.

Given the ability to put utility worldwide and blind opponents, the Mage’s Bubble, Tartarus Pit, and Vision Taker abilities feel like a combination of Omen and Astra’s kit. Depending on its size, the Golem ultimate could significantly affect either the defending or attacking side in post-plant scenarios.

Although nothing has been formally announced, adding a new controller agent makes the most sense, given that there are now only four on the roster instead of the five initiators and six duelists. At the absolute least, a new agent wouldn’t enter the game until the beginning of the following Act, which wouldn’t be until October 2022.
