VALORANT Champions 2022 is here, and all eyes will be on the outcomes of the second VALORANT world championship. A long year of thrilling VCT competition has brought us to this point once more. However, a questionable redone of a round because of a bug on Killjoy’s turret and issues with the English live stream broadcast left some fans scratching their heads.

A Bug On Killjoy’s Turret

FPX ended EMEA’s losing streak and eliminated XSET from the tournament in the lower bracket of VCT Champions Istanbul, an exceedingly tight game. They did, or so they believed until the VCT officials decided that the final round of the previous map needed to be redone due to a bug with Killjoy’s turret.

The VALORANT community was shocked by the decision. Due to the bug’s nature and how long it has been in the game and the poor precedent it creates for the competitive scene, many players and coaches argued that the round in question didn’t call for a replay. However, local press reports that the two teams will hold a rematch of the round.

The problem concerned a Killjoy turret that XSET’s AYRIN had installed on the Ascent site’s A. XSET only needed to win the particular round to send the series into overtime with the score in favor of FPX at 12-11. In a split second, FPX’s ANGE1 moved within the Killjoy turret’s field of sight before quickly moving back out of it, igniting the turret’s fire. But instead of firing in the direction of ANGE1, the turret reset back to the place it had been pointed at before it saw ANGE1 and started aiming toward the heaven section of the A site rather than the door where the FPX players were situated.

Since he turns his back on the defenders who are ready to reclaim the place, it is evident that XSET’s “dephh” believes the turret has sighted someone in heaven. The round win appears to have been deemed invalid by VCT officials due to this erroneous information, and they have mandated that the two teams rematch the round, potentially changing the outcome of a match that had “finished” than an hour earlier.

A large number of pros, coaches, and members of the media have expressed their disapproval of choice, pointing out that Killjoy’s turret has frequently acted in this manner in the past and that replaying the round would set a precedent that would be detrimental to the current VCT Masters tournament as well as to future tournaments.

VALORANT Champions English Stream Suffers Lag and Buffering Issues

The English-language Livestream started experiencing serious problems during the day’s second game at the VALORANT Champions event, a hotly anticipated rematch between North America’s XSET and EMEA’s FPX. For many fans, the stream buffered repeatedly and had bad quality throughout the entirety of the first map in the series.

Fortunately, the feed got back to normal in time for the second map of Bind, even though many fans completely missed the first map of Pearl. It appears like the English broadcast will continue without the need for a lengthy tech break, barring any additional slowness problems.

The contest between XSET and FPX is crucial since it is an elimination match and because NA and EMEA are always at odds about which area should rule supreme. However, the game caused difficulties for English-speaking spectators from both areas because many were forced to use streams in other languages.

Given that both Japan and Brazil have passionate and enthusiastic fan bases, several fans choose to watch the broadcasts from those countries. Those who spoke French, Korean, Arabic, German, or Mandarin as their second language tuned in to the stream.

VALORANT Champions 2022 will continue on September 17, with the remaining four teams to battle it out the be the VCT 2022 Champions.
