Split, one of the earliest maps created by Valorant, has received a fresh balancing update.

Split will officially make a comeback on January 10 in Valorant patch 6.0 after undergoing significant revisions following its removal from the Competitive and Unrated queues in Episode 5 Act I.

A portion of the map has undergone large and minor tweaks, which will alter how players compete for map dominance and claim territory.

It eliminated some advantages that defenders had in a number of situations, providing attackers with greater options for how to approach different areas of the map. Both defenses and attackers will be compelled to adapt as a result of these changes.

Additionally, it eliminated some advantages that defenders had in a number of situations, providing attackers with greater options for how to approach different areas of the map. Both defenses and attackers will be compelled to adapt as a result of these changes.

Split was clearly not a popular map, based on player feedback, even if Riot Games didn’t give any specific justifications for its removal.

On the other hand, Pearl was added to the map pool, which forced one map out of rotation. Due to this, Riot Games decided to temporarily remove Split and make some changes before it was added back.

Split was eliminated in Patch 5.00. And with the 6.00 Revelation update, Riot Games is reintroducing the map to the map rotation precisely one long episode later. Contrary to the previous iteration, the new Split has been redesigned to enhance the gameplay for both Attackers and Defenders.

A Main

There were substantial modifications in the region around Crown Coffee. Attackers now have a new way to seize control of A main thanks to the elevated walkway that the game’s developers added.

A Main Box

Attackers now have a fresh angle from which to view the entry to the A site because the space between the A ramp and it has been cut in half.

A Rafters

As an Attacker, this is considerably simpler to handle now that the under-over area has been eliminated.

A Tower

To make the fight to the Ramps simpler for both teams, the back portion of the Tower has been flattened.

Mid Bottom

Now, players can secretly leave the Mid platform.
For ease of use, the trick-jump up onto the Mid box has also been eliminated.

B Tower

To make the area more functional, the defender side jump-up box has been deleted.

B Rope Pocket

Here, the difficult corner has been rounded off to make clearing the area simpler.

New Split Release Date

The reworked version of Split will go live as soon as Episode 6, Revelation releases, which is set to go live on January 10, 2023.
