What is “Sheesh!”?

The word “sheesh” conveys wonder, enthusiasm, or amazement.

Players have been using the term in video games to express their heightened admiration for excellent plays (or disgusting plays in gamer slang).

Approximately 66 years ago, in 1955, the word “sheesh” was first used, according to Merriam-Webster.

LeBron James, a basketball legend, increased the expression’s popularity in the 2010s.

Time travel to 2020, when @earltthechicken, a Tiktok user, posted this video of himself and his friends enjoying a midday sneaker meetup. You can hear @earlthechicken’s very mellow sheesh reactions in every exhibition of so-called “sneaker pairs.”

Many people in the community have been using the statement since last year. It was popularized by some of our gaming friends and quickly spread among players.

Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek, a different participant and streamer in the action, was seen holding a placard with the term that had been uploaded by his girlfriend Hannah “Bnans” Kenney.

Leslie “Fuslie” Fu, a Twitch streamer for OfflineTV, has also joined the cause after killing a Killjoy player during one of her broadcasts.

This led to the creation of the “Sheesh Song,” which was composed by a YouTube content maker and musician and elevate using Fuslie’s unique take on the popular idiom.

You are now prepared to sheesh your way through your Valorant ranking games now that you are aware of the expression’s history and the correct technique to apply it.
