Listen up, fellow support mains: add Milio to your champion pool.

Milio’s skills were created by Riot Games to be those of traditional enchanter support: easy to learn but difficult to master. He is hence a glass cannon who is as flimsy as his fellow female enchanters intended to be placed in the backline rather than warden hybrids like Taric, Rakan, and Thresh.

His equipment strengthens comrades, encourages aggressive play from them, quickens their movements, heals and cleanses them, and also messes with enemies.

Like Renata Glasc, the final support champion to be released in 2022, Milio’s ultimate is a game-changer because it eliminates crowd control effects in an AOE.

How Riot Games created Milio

A biography and Super-Series Adventure Report for the new champion Milio, the Gentle Flame, were just made public by Riot Games.

While there isn’t much information to go on, his biography states “Milio is a warmhearted boy from Ixtal who has, despite his young age, mastered the fire axiom and discovered something new: soothing fire.“ Based on this, it’s likely he’s a male mage or enchanter and could possibly be a support champion.

You might be wondering why he looks familiar or what served as the inspiration for the mythology and character of the new League champion after reading his biography, the first report, and even glancing at his splash art. The solution may also surprise you.

Since his appearance, Milio’s lore, traits, and skills have been analyzed by fans. Riot was motivated by the well-liked Disney movie Encanto, which is centered around a family with magical skills that live secretly in the Colombian mountains. Although we won’t know these specifics until Riot reveals them, we do know that Riot was influenced by the movie.

Encanto was undoubtedly one of the primary inspirations for Milio, according to Riot developer Reav3, who responded to a League player’s inquiry, partly because the movie had just come out while production had just started.

We do, however, know that Milio and his “fuemigo” were motivated by Encanto, despite the fact that little is known about Milio, his skills, his function, or the kind of champion he is.
