Watching League of Legends pro play can earn you a drop for in-game goodies, but the procedure is a little more involved than simply watching games. Here’s how to capitalize on drops while watching your favorite league.

Many games use Twitch drops to reward viewers for viewing content related to their game, and they frequently reward loyal fans for supporting their favorite pro leagues or upcoming titles. Drop-based strategies have helped games like Overwatch become extremely successful.

Drops for watching LoL Esports, on the other hand, are a little more sophisticated than regular Twitch drops. To fully benefit from drops from LoL Esports events, you must first perform a few preliminary measures.

In fact, unlike most other games, you can’t even obtain drops by watching the live on Twitch. Here’s how to acquire free League of Legends goodies while watching esports.

Get Drops While Watching LoL Esports

Those that watch their favorite League of Legends pro league can be rewarded with drops in exchange for their time and attention.

Viewers can obtain a variety of emotes and icons, with limited-time incentives based on major events such as MSI and Worlds being prevalent.

These drops, however, are not available to everyone. To begin, you must be viewing on your Riot account, and these drops can only be obtained by watching matches on the LoL Esports website. Drops are currently only available for the LCS at the time of writing. Watching other leagues will not get you anywhere.

Drops for the year began with the LCS, with additional areas quickly following. Riot has yet to provide a specific release date for these items, only stating that they will be available shortly.

Furthermore, rather than being random, drops are now focused on in-game objectives and events. Pentakills have the highest chance of dropping, followed by objective steals and what is listed as “other moments” in their explainer.

There’s also a lot of RNG at work here, and it’s been stated that you may not get drops for days at a period while occasionally getting numerous drops in a single broadcast. It all depends on what occurs in the games that day and whether or not you get one.

Now go watch your favorite team to get an easy drop!
