Bel’Veth, the Void Empress will be the latest champion to soon hit Summoner’s Rift. The Void Empress is intended to be a jungler that has an infinitely scaling stat. Continue reading this article to learn more about the latest void champion arriving to terrorize Summoner’s Rift.

Appearance and Lore

Based on the teaser video for Bel’Veth, she initially appears to be a humanoid void creature. However, towards the teaser’s end, her true form is revealed. She retracts her humanoid head and transforms into a void monstrosity that looks similar to a manta ray.

Bel’Veth’s lore states that she was born in the void from an entire devoured port city and its outlying ocean. She was born from the combined memories, emotions, and experiences of the city’s inhabitants. Because of this, Bel’Veth’s mind has millions of years worth of preserved knowledge that grants her nigh-omniscience. She intends to use this near-omniscience to destroy both Runeterra and the Watchers, the void’s ancient creators. Bel’Veth’s ultimate goal is to assimilate and remake all of creation into her dominion, the lavender sea.

Now that we’ve given you the quick gist of Bel’Veth’s appearance and lore, let’s move on to her abilities.

Abilities

Passive – Death in Lavender

Bel’Veth’s passive empowers her next 2 attacks with increased attack speed after she uses an ability. Additionally, she gains Lavender stacks that grant permanent bonus attack speed whenever she takes down a champion or large monster. Furthermore, Bel’Veth has no attack speed cap and attacks faster than normal. However, she doesn’t gain attack speed per level and her attacks and on-hit effects deal reduced damage.

Q – Void Surge

The Void Empress’ first basic ability lets her dash in one of four directions. She deals damage and applies on-hit effects to all enemies she passes through. Each direction she can dash to has its own unique cooldown that scales with her attack speed.

W – Above and Below

Bel’Veth’s second basic ability makes her slam her tail down after a brief wind-up animation. She deals damage, knocks up, and slows enemies hit by this ability. Additionally, hitting an enemy champion with this ability reduces Void Surge’s dash cooldown in the direction of the hit champion.

E – Royal Maelstrom

After using her third basic ability, Bel’Veth thrusts the ground and channels a storm of slashes in an area around her. Additionally, she gains damage reduction and increased lifesteal while channeling this ability. Each slash strikes the lowest health enemy within the ability’s area of effect. This ability deals more damage the more health the target is missing. The amount of slashes done by this ability scales with Bel’Veth’s attack speed.

R – Endless Banquet

Bel’Veth’s ultimate ability has both a passive and active effect. The passive allows Bel’Veth to deal bonus true damage after every second attack against the same target. This bonus true damage stacks infinitely. Additionally, takedowns against champions and epic monsters leave behind a piece of Void Coral.  Furthermore, Epic Monsters from the void like Rift Herald and Baron Nashor drop a special, voidier Void Coral.

The Void Empress consumes Void Coral with this ability’s active effect. Consuming Void Coral causes Bel’Veth to explode, slowing and dealing true damage to nearby enemies based on their missing health. After consuming Void Coral, Bel’Veth temporarily transforms into her True Form. If Bel’Veth consumes Void Coral left by the Rift Herald or Baron Nashor, she gets an extended True Form transformation. Additionally, nearby minions who die during an extended transformation are reborn as faithful Voidlings. These Voidlings are small minions who serve the Void Empress by marching down the lane they’re spawned in.

Bel’Veth gains increased maximum health, out-of-combat movement speed, attack range, and total attack speed while she’s transformed. Additionally, her True Form grants her the ability to dash through walls with Void Surge.

This wraps up our rundown of Bel’Veth, the Void Empress. She’ll be arriving in Summoner’s Rift in League of Legends patch 12.11 to assimilate Runeterra to her Lavender Sea.
